The sexiest of words, just for you

Darling art lovers and gentle readers, we have made it to Wednesday! Halfway through the week, and so, SO close to the start of the 2024 Seattle Erotic Art Festival! Today we want to tease you with something lascivious and perhaps loquacious. We have a lovely collection of wordsmiths in the anthology this year, and we want to share them with you. So let’s explore the 2024 Literary Events!

Our Literary Events have found a new home this year in the Library. The Library is a little short on books, but will feature a parade of authors throughout the weekend. We also have a selection of authors ready to brave the 4Culture stage and read their accepted works.

Saturday

2024 Literary Events: Sumu Tasib

Tell Me (Tiny) Stories of Consent

The Library, 1:15 pm
Sumu Tasib
We see countless movies where seduction is intuitive and automatic, with nary a mention of consent. Is it any surprise, then, that so many of us struggle to navigate consent in the real world? How might it change things if we had a rich tapestry of stories to draw from, from verbal to nonverbal, from monogamy to sex parties, from successful negotiations to abject failures?

Su’s latest project is a collection of tiny one-minute stories about consent, meant to be sources of inspiration, contemplation, and cautionary tales. He loves to share a few he’s already written, but more than anything he wants to hear your stories, and about the stories you wish someone would write.

Self Tutelage: A practical toolkit for finding the eros in absolutely everything

The Library, 2:45 pm
Röble
This talk explores the importance self love, and pleasure and how these elements can be found in ALL aspects of life. In Act I we will walk through how to create a common language that we can all work from, particularly as we are personally guided by our own personal definition of eros. In Act II we push our definition of eros to the extreme by finding the sexy in a not so sexy setting and find how liberating that can be. And in the 3rd and Final Act we memorialize it, memory is fleeting! How do we ensure we don’t forget where and how do we begin to apply these concepts to inform our lives, our writing and our art practice.

2024 Literary Events: Epona Rose

Ecos, Eros, Soma: Exploring Ecological Eroticism through poetry, song and story.
